ayful and energetic! He loves his people. He's a funny little guy who likes to zoom around the yard, be petted, and get his picture taken! For his main picture on his page, he saw a volunteer with a camera and immediately got up on a bench and gave a great pose.
Call his name before touching him; he does not like to be startled and will not react well. This issue improves when he's comfortable in his situation and knows the people he's with. He has a soft mouth and does need to finish learning not to put his teeth on people. For this reason, we suggest older children. He is quite a jumper - up in your lap, on the table....he is young and needs a good a teacher/you to show him his manners.
If given sufficient time and attention, we think he would be satisfied as an only dog. If everyone goes to work, school, the beach all day long, he will want a k-9 pal.

For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.
Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries. Also, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees start at $150 and go up to $750. The higher end is for our most in demand dogs, such as puppies, young beagles, and hard-to-find purebred dogs. The lower end is for dogs that have been here for a while. Because we are a charity, the fees for our dogs are officially "donations" and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!
The beauty of coming to our Apple Valley sanctuary is that you can see all 90+ dogs. Email your application and ask for more details.
