Siberian Husky mix might have a look that's a little... different, but trust us, her heart is pure gold and her charm is absolutely magnetic! Maybe her ears do their own thing, or her tongue is always out, but every single "flaw" just adds to her one-of-a-kind appeal. She's proof that beauty truly comes from within, and this girl has it in spades! Beyond her wonderfully quirky appearance, she's got the loving and playful spirit you'd expect from a Husky. She's eager to please, loves to romp and play, and will shower you with affection. Her unique look just makes her hugs even more special! If you're searching for a loyal companion who will make you smile every single day and remind you that perfection is overrated, then you absolutely must consider this darling! Could you be the loving family who sees past the "unconventional" and straight into this girl's beautiful heart? We promise, her unique brand of adorable is truly addictive! Let's find her the fairytale ending she deserves. Scarlett was rescued from a NC shelter. She was originally a stray but adopted from the shelter by a family with small children. They soon returned her to the shelter because she was supposedly overwhelmed by the kids. Unfortunately, Scarlett wasn't given any time to acclimate before they dumped her back at the shelter. Now an "owner surrender" in a packed shelter, her number was up. So we made room for one more! And let us tell you, this little 2 year old gal walked right into the sanctuary, with all the other dogs, like she owns the place! She's a pretty confident gal so who knows why she's been so misfortunate. That's okay baby doll... We'll make sure your next stop is furever! Scarlett will need a home where she has other canine friends to play with and room to stretch her legs. She has a rough and tough wrestle style of play, true to the Husky breed. She'll need a playmate(s) who can match her zealous style. She's still all puppy so we'd recommend a home with no small animals or young children. She's very inquisitive and would make a great adventure partner. Scarlett is spayed, current on her vaccines and is finishing up heartworm treatment. She's ready for her next adventure with a dedicated family. Scarlett is being fostered in NC. She can be transported for the right home! Adoption area Eastern US. ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at .huskyrescueteam/apply If you have additional questions please email infohuskyrescueteam

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
