Zulee has such soulful eyes Foster Home Feedback 4/24/25 Foster Feedback: Zulee has been in the rescue for a while now, waiting patiently for her forever home. Zulee is such a lovable dog. She enjoys spending time playing with her people and also likes playing with other dogs. . This smart girl is potty trained and recently celebrated her 1st birthday. If you like to go on walks, Zulee is your girl. She's always ready to go. I can't believe I still have her. She’s the sweetest dog ever! Please give Zulee a chance. Who's ready to bring this little girl home? 2/3/2025 Foster Feedback: Meet Zulee! She's sweet and a little sassy! She's one of a kind. I've had Zulee for a little over 3 months now, and she's wondering why she hasn't gotten her forever home yet! She's not very cuddly, she likes her space but loves those belly rubs. Zulee is potty trained now and has improved a lot! The longest she's been kenneled is about 6 hours with no accidents. (She will have a few potty accidents to be expected.) She's very playful and energetic, so she needs someone to take her on walks or a safe place to release her energy. She loves to play with other dogs! Zulee still chews on things, so items need to be picked up. Zulee is still skittish when meeting new people, so slow introductions are needed. When someone adopts her, it might take a few weeks till she feels at home. She is a wonderful dog! She's not very big. (medium size) Who's ready to give this sweet girl a home?! 11/13/2024 Foster Feedback: Zulee is very playful and can play a little rough at times, so right now I would not recommend she go to a home with very little kids. She is also at the age where she likes to chew on things so I would pick up items you don't want chewed up, like shoes. She does need a slow introduction when meeting new people because she gets scared. Zulee will need time and patience to get used to her new home and new family. She loves to play with other dogs, likes car rides and going for walks because she loves to explore. She has slept with me at night and does well. She is just a young puppy still learning new things. Overall, she is a very sweet pup, looking for her forever home... 10/24/24 Foster Feedback: This sweet little girl is Zulee! She has been the best little house guest. I just love her, I know you will too. She's very playful, loves to be with people, and plays well with other dogs. Zulee is doing well with potty training, and has only had a few accidents in the house. Sometimes when she's in her kennel for 5 hrs or more, she will have a little mess. That's a long time for a young dog to hold it. She will bark in her kennel at first and then settles down for the night. Zulee will be a great family member! 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
