Hannah is a lovable, sweet, and affectionate dog who’s ready to find a family that will continue to help her blossom into the confident, happy pup she was always meant to be. She may be timid at first, but with patience and love, Hannah will show you the beautiful depth of her heart. Hannah is crate trained and loves her "den"—she’ll often sleep in her crate with the door open, content and cozy. She’s also housebroken and enjoys spending time outdoors in the yard, we take her out five times a day to stretch her legs and explore her world. Despite her love for the great outdoors, Hannah has a low energy level and is equally content to relax indoors with her family. At first, she was fearful of the leash and would lie down while on it. She is making slow progress on a leash, so a fenced-in yard would be ideal for Hannah. Hannah would do well in a home with a calm dog to help boost her confidence. She’s a little vocal when it comes to sharing space with our dogs, but it’s all part of her process of feeling comfortable and secure. She’s also shown that she can be independent if needed and could do fine with an adopter who works away from the home during the day, especially if there’s another dog to keep her company. She has had positive interactions with other dogs but has not been around children or cats. She’s generally a quiet dog, but can be vocal at times when she’s feeling talkative. Because she’s still a bit shy, a calm, understanding home would be the perfect environment for her to continue to grow. Why adopt Hannah? Applicants should live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore prefer applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
