ces in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 3/16/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Owner surrender Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Skipper is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Skipper will be neutered on 04/18/25 and ready for his forever home on 04/26/25. We are accepting applications to adopt now. Weight: 50 lbs (est) Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Skipper will be neutered on 04/18/25 and ready for his forever home on 04/26/25. We are accepting applications to adopt now. Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Skipper is an active boy who needs a yard with a fence that is at least 4 feet tall to safely romp and play in. What kind of home would be best for me? Skipper is looking for a home where he can get plenty of attention and playtime, ideally a home that’s active and able to engage with him throughout the day. He’s not picky about the type of household – whether you’re a single person, a couple, or a family – as long as he gets plenty of love! That said, Skipper LOVES kids and thinks they make the best playmates. With Skipper being so energetic and playful, he longs for a home with a fenced in yard where he can run and play with your kids or smaller dog. Please note, Skipper is picky about his canine friends and says that other large dogs are a hard pass for him. He can be way too much for small dogs. He won't be placed in a home with other large dogs, or large dogs that visit regularly. He also sadly isn't a candidate for the dog park. Skipper is an adventure-loving dog who would be thrilled to join his new family on daily walks, hikes, beach trips, or visits to the coffee shop for a pup cup! What is my personality like? Meet Skipper – an energetic, loving boy who came to us as an owner release along with three other dogs. Despite his past in a crowded home, Skipper remains a happy and affectionate dog. He adores people and is very cuddly, often jumping up to give hugs and kisses, and he happily expects the same in return. Skipper is an affectionate, playful boy who loves people and gets along with smaller dogs. Please note, Skipper is picky about his friends and simply does not like large dogs. He cannot be placed in a home with large dogs, and sadly there are no dog parks in his future. He is very playful, so your cat would need to be tolerant of an active and lively companion. Skipper will need leash and command training, but with consistent practice, he will gain confidence, and you’ll build a strong bond together. Skipper does well in his crate here, but we can’t guarantee he’s fully potty trained yet. With consistent potty breaks and being taken out before bed, he should have no issues. We believe Skipper would make a perfect family dog. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and active companion, Skipper is the dog for you! He wants to be your one and only. How do I act when I first meet new people? Skipper is incredibly friendly and loves meeting new people. He will greet you with hugs and be eager to receive all the love and attention you can give him. Other tips and tidbits: Skipper was born on or around 10/17/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
