y in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 4/6/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Castiel is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 49 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Castiel is a big boy and needs a fence four (4) feet tall or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Even though Castiel is nearly two years old, he has the energy of a puppy and a whole lot of learning ahead of him. He needs a home with active adopters who can commit time and effort to help him gain confidence through socialization and training. Castiel isn’t picky about who adopts him — whether you’re a single person, a couple, or a family, he just needs someone with a loving heart, patience, and the energy to keep up with him and provide the training he needs. Castiel requires another confident, well-socialized dog in the home — someone he can learn from and buddy up with and model his behavior after. Castiel has never known life without a canine companion. He’s a bit too much for cats at the moment, so a cat-free home would be best. Castiel’s boundless energy is matched only by his boundless love of people. He ADORES people - possibly even more than treats! If you can offer Castiel the time, patience, and love he needs, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal and fun-loving companion. What is my personality like? Meet Castiel – A Gentle Soul with a Poodle's Heart and a Story Worth Telling. Castiel is everything you’d expect from a poodle — elegant, intelligent, and quietly magical — with just a touch of shyness from a past that hasn’t always been kind. Before rescue, Castiel lived his life as a breeder puppy. He didn’t know the softness of a couch, the safety of a routine, or what it meant to be part of a family. The world was small, unfamiliar, and mostly silent. But even then, this sweet boy held on to something rare: hope. Since coming into rescue, Castiel has blossomed into a dog with so much love to give — once he knows he’s safe. He may not run into your arms on day one, but give him a little time, a gentle voice, and a kind heart, and you’ll watch the most beautiful transformation unfold. Once Castiel trusts you, he will follow you to the ends of the earth — loyal, loving, and never more than a few steps behind. He finds his courage in other dogs. They help him read the world, show him that life can be fun, and remind him he’s never alone. Because of this, Castiel is looking for a home with at least one other friendly, confident dog — a canine companion who can show him the ropes and walk this journey of healing and joy right beside him. He’s also incredibly sweet with children — their calm presence and playful energy bring out the softer side of him. He watches them with gentle eyes and seems to understand their goodness in a way only dogs can. Castiel is still discovering what it means to be part of a home — to know love, safety, and the comfort of being chosen. He doesn’t ask for much. Just a quiet place, a patient heart, a dog friend or two, and someone who’s willing to meet him where he is… and walk forward, together. If you're looking for a dog who will quietly steal your heart and never let go — Castiel is ready when you are. How do I act when I first meet new people? At first, Castiel might take a moment to assess the situation, but once he’s comfortable — it’s game on! He’s incredibly affectionate and loves to engage with people. Other tips and tidbits: Castiel was born on 6/11/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
