es in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 5/14/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered to a shelter by his owners Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Maverick is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Maverick is a doodle. We will never guarantee that a doodle is hypoallergenic or that they won't shed. Weight: 72 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Not required, but a fenced yard is a great safety feature for a big guy like Maverick. Please note Maverick has never lived without the freedom and safety of a physically fenced yard. If you don't have a physically fenced yard, you need a plan for LOTS of daily exercise as this will be a big adjustment for him. What kind of home would be best for me? Say hello to Maverick, an extremely social, lovable pup who’s ready to find his forever home! Maverick LIVES for human connection. He absolutely adores people and genuinely believes every person he meets is a new friend. This big-hearted boy has spent his entire life living outdoors, and he's eager to experience the joy and comfort of a home filled with love. Because of his high energy and zest for life, Maverick will thrive with active adopters who can provide him with plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Whether you're single, a couple, or a family, Maverick is simply looking for people to shower with love — and who will return that love in abundance. Ideally, he’d love someone who is home most of the day, as he craves quality time and companionship. He gets along well with other large dogs but he’s too active for feline friends. Due to his size and energy level, Maverick isn’t a fit for apartment or townhome living. He would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can run, play, and burn off energy safely. He’d enjoy romping around with another playful dog or with older children. Because he can be exuberant and strong, we recommend a home with kids aged 10 and up, just to avoid accidental knockdowns during playtime. What is my personality like? Maverick is big, bold, loving, and energetic. Maverick was surrendered to a rural shelter by his previous owner. After spending a few weeks there, he came to us at the farm. When he arrived, his coat was overgrown, so he got a fresh trim and is looking better than ever. He’s up to date on all vaccinations and currently finishing a round of antibiotics. He’s ready for adoption any day now — and he can’t wait to start his next chapter! Maverick is still learning the ropes of indoor life. He’ll need basic obedience training — including commands like sit, stay, come, and leash walking. As he adjusts to life inside, his new family should provide frequent potty breaks, especially in the beginning. He marks often at the farm, but regular bathroom outings (especially right before bed and first thing in the morning) will help him succeed in his new routine. Maverick is excited to be part of every family adventure — whether that’s hiking the trails, heading to the beach, or enjoying a pup cup at your favorite sidewalk café. Maverick is ready to trade in his outdoor past for a future filled with warmth, love, and plenty of adventures. How do I act when I first meet new people? Maverick is people-friendly, warms up quickly and is eager to bond with you. Other tips and tidbits: Maverick was born on 4/29/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
