Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. _________ B I O ______________ Name: Haley Size: Medium range: 26-60 lbs Adoption Donation: $250 (applicable sales tax included) Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check.  Other: Spayed Female, Vaccinations current, Microchip, No cats, Not Apartment Friendly Haley is small in size, big on hugs and love Foster Home Feedback ** No cats ** Not Apartment Friendly 5/19/25 Temporary Care Feedback: Haley recently enjoyed a week-long kennel break in our home and was a great house guest. She is fully potty trained and does great in a crate. One of her favorite activities is playing fetch—she could go all day if you let her! Haley adores people and wants to be wherever you are. She has amazing recall—just say her name, and she’s right by your side! She’s affectionate and will gently nudge you for more pets if she thinks she’s not getting enough attention. When it comes to other dogs, Haley does best with calm, non-confrontational companions. She tends to be a little bossy with bigger dogs when they seek attention from her humans and may give a typical heeler-style snap. Her ideal home would be as the only dog or with a mellow dog friend. We recommend a cat-free home for Haley. While she’s not aggressive, she’s a bit too interested and loves to chase, which could be stressful for a feline housemate. Haley is smart, loyal, and full of personality. If you're looking for a sweet, attentive companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Haley may be your perfect match! 1/8/25 Foster Feedback: Haley is a sweet and playful girl who easily grabs your heart when she quickly rolls over for belly rubs and nuzzles! She spent some time in a foster home with kids and larger dogs when coming into rescue and is now in a home with two medium sized dogs. Haley is good with dogs but really does seem to prefer all of my attention! She wants nothing more than to sit and snuggle or give her person hugs. Haley is potty trained and has done well with kennel training. She barks some when she goes in but settles in less than 5-10 minutes and is quiet all night long. She has some heeler qualities and would do best with a family who wants to give her regular exercise and play. I think Haley would be fine being the only dog or having other dogs around. She likes toys and chews but doesn’t seem to need to play with my dogs. She is super smart and learned how to walk on the treadmill in one session! Haley is a super cool dog who is already through the puppy stages and ready to be your lifelong companion! To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: .4luvofdog

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
