Matilda is deaf, so we would like her adoptive home to have experience with dogs deaf from birth or be willing to learn how to safely live with and enrich the life of a deaf dog. Matilda is learning housetraining and is catching on quickly when taken outside regularly and frequently. The other dogs in her foster home are also helping teach her. Matilda prefers to follow her person rather than be carried. She is in fairly constant motion but will settle down for a few hours in the evening. She is not a little dog who can safely sleep in the bed with her person. Matilda just started showing interest in playing with toys. We require a small, securely fenced yard for Matilda so she can have the opportunity to play safely while supervised in her yard, and a fenced yard also helps with housetraining. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD FOR Matilda’s ADOPTIVE HOME. The secure fence must be at least 4 feet with gaps no larger than 1 inch and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing), it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed.
