With limited hearing and vision, he takes life at his own pace, savoring the smells, the sunshine, and the occasional well-earned nap on the coziest spot he can find. He’s sweet as pie with a sprinkle of sass—cuddling when he’s in the mood, grumbling a bit when he’s not (and honestly, haven’t we all been there?). Harley isn’t one for chaos or surprises, so he’s on the lookout for a calm, adult-only home where he can enjoy his golden years with grace, dignity, and maybe a few soft treats. If you’ve got a big heart and quiet home, he just might have a little spot for you in his world. We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogsccrcdogs with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at .ccrcdogs, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support.

Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet

  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life.
