the next 8 months in a cage. He is the sweetest guy so we just had to pull him out of this situation and show him that there is life beyond those 4 walls. Lincoln is a gorgeous boy - we are unsure of his mix but he is around 60 lbs and a lovely lanky boy.
From his foster mom:
A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient and Loving Home
Hi, my name is Lincoln. I'm an introvert with humans, but don't let that discourage you. I thrive in the company of other dogs, and I would especially love to find a home with another dog who likes to play. However, I am open to being the only dog as well. I am curious and indifferent to cats.
Overall, I can be quite shy until I trust you. Like many human introverts, I take time to warm up to new people, situations and environments. I prefer the company of a few people that I can get close to. However, when I am comfortable and confident, I become goofy, silly, and playful. I even enjoy cuddling in bed. Recently, I have started to snuggle with my foster mom before she falls asleep. Once I am certain that she is going to have sweet dreams, I put myself in my crate for the night until it’s time to wake her, so she doesn’t oversleep.
While I prefer to stay in familiar surroundings with those I trust, I enjoy car rides, and I travel really well. I might even make a good travel buddy for a long-haul trucker. As for walks, until I walk enough away from the car or the house, I am focused on getting back to my familiar surroundings but once far enough away I walk, sniff and stay on alert. I do better when I walk with another dog. If I get scared on a walk, I lay down for a moment, but with a gentle nudge, I am ready to move on. I also recommend that you keep your shoes away from me. While I haven't damaged any yet, I have been caught taking and beginning to play with them.
I have been with my foster mom since March 2025, and I have come a long way. When I first arrived, I wouldn’t let her touch me. Now, I often seek her affection especially in the morning and when she lets me out of crate. By the way, I am also potty and crate trained.
While I may not be your couch snuggle buddy immediately, I will be your encouragement to get outside and your companion for a walk. I am looking for a pet parent(s) who will be patient with me and help me gain confidence and trust in humans. I also need them to accept and love me for the amazing, sweet boy that I am.
Are you the kind and patient person who can offer me the loving home I deserve? If so, I can't wait to meet you and start our journey together.
