s food. Most beagles do, but he can get a little ramped up when food is being prepared. We feel it is best to remove him when food is present. It is manageable though. He is more about people but does get along with dogs. He would be fine as an only dog. He is about 20 pounds. He is undergoing heartworm treatment. We are willing to let him go to a "foster-to-adopt" home. This would require taking him into your home with the intent on adopting him. We will take care of his expenses and treatment and hopefully this will end in an adoption. What that means is whoever has him will need to give medications. He is very good at taking medications. most times, we just throw them into his food. Part of heartworm treatment requires the dog to go into the veterinary office for injections. (3 times). It is not hard to care for them, but it is a matter of time. Adoption fee is 450 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years therefore beagles under 3 years of age will not be adopted to anyone over the age of 62.
