TFINDER APP; OUR APPLICATION IS ON .dashdog. PLEASE complete OUR application if you are interested in meeting our dogs or puppies! Without OUR application being completed, you WILL NOT be considered or receive any communication from us. Thank You! ***AND our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND TAKE HIM OR HER HOME! GOOFBALL GROVER Where do I begin? Well Grover is absolutely not an Australian Shepherd of any kind - so there’s that however he does seem to be a Border Terrier mix giving him some Border Collie-type behaviors. Grover is a hilarious, entertaining, fuzzy-faced mini -mini mighty hot mess of an older puppy who has captivated our household and provided non-stop entertainment. According to many of the AI Breed Research portals Grover’s pictures most often come up under Border Terrier, Puggle depending on the angle, Chihuahua and Chiweenie; we see the Chi but the only dachshund-like feature he has is a longer body than a Chihuahua. Grover is extremely SMART, loves to please and is actually really mellow most of the time. Grover has his favorite plush toy that the same size as him, a Yeti, and a 12-inch untreated rawhide that has quickly dissuaded him from having “puppy-mouthing” behavior! Grover can leap all furniture in a single bound even with the Yeti or bone in his mouth! You don’t have to pick up his toys for him he does it himself and it helps his energy. But really he played for an hour today and has gone from napping on the patio table to napping on my bed! Grover was examined by a vet who said he could be 8-10 months old but he’s very healthy, well-behaved and won over the entire vet staff. He has a cherry-eye which we are working on repairing - I’ll update here but it can possibly be “massaged back in” (not my words; vet said it) or if necessary removed during his upcoming neuter. Regardless Grover is a cutie and for a puppy he’s amazing. He sleeps through the night, he’s crate trained and nearly housebroken, he’s not destructive, he’s not a barker and he would LOVE A BIG DOG PLAYMATE! Finally: he is a snuggle-bug. He is a Larger Breed in his disposition and he is a very affectionate, gentle puppy. We are looking for both Foster or Forever for Grover, a foster with playful dogs is what he deserves. But he’s ready to begin his forever life with the lucky family who is chosen for him! APPLICATION REQUIRED from .dashdog Adoption Fee $450 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON .dashdog and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD. Please READ ALL of our info below BEFORE SENDING APPLICATION. Our goal is to help our puppies and dogs find FOREVER HOMES AND FAMILIES, NOT TO MAKE IT PROHIBITIVE FOR YOU TO ADOPT. However, once we review the application and contact you, we MEET TO ADOPT, so please let us know if you are ONLY APPLYING TO STAY ON FILE or THAT YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT, for the consideration of our puppies and dogs and families who know the time is right! 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
