DER APP; OUR APPLICATION IS ON .dashdog. PLEASE complete OUR application if you are interested in meeting our dogs or puppies! Without OUR application being completed, you WILL NOT be considered or receive any communication from us. Thank You! ***AND our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND TAKE HIM OR HER HOME! Super Cooper (Toby’s Brother From Another Mother ) has an owner who wants to share his story. “Cooper is a very sweet, smart guy who became our furry family member after he was dumped on our property two years ago. We had lots of land and lots of property and he loved running all over the place with his dog siblings. Unfortunately, we’ve had to move to a much smaller location and even worse our entire fence was destroyed in recent storms and we don’t have the money to fix it so we’re having to find homes for all of our dogs. We want them to have better lives than we can give right now Cooper's energy level alternates depending on the situation - it’s been 8-9 recently because we haven’t had the time to spend with him, but really when he gets regular exercise and some playtime, he settles down and just absolutely loves to cuddle like a bear. Cooper loves to sit in your lap, give kisses and hugs and ride in cars. He will be your velcro dog for sure! He barks at anyone new but once he knows that you are okay with them, then he is okay. He has never been aggressive. He just has a good solid bark. Cooper has always had dog friends to play with, he was the shadow of Our female Shepherd mix, but is also fine with our male Pyrenees. It would be great to find him a home with at least one other dog because he’s always had canine companions. We are so sad to have to rehome our dogs, but it might be meant to be because they do love running around outside, but they sure won’t turn away a nice home with the air conditioning blasting cuddling on the sofa, watching TV or movies and maybe trying to sneak one of your snacks or maybe two! Since we learned the hard way that our dogs are not really meant for livestock, we reached out to DASH to help them find more suburban homes where they could be indoors more, but get all the attention they deserve. All the love you give Cooper he will pay back 1000 fold. He’s a true blue buddy dog and a faithful friend. He’s loving and loyal. I’m just an all-around terrific Australian Shepherd for a loving family. APPLICATION REQUIRED from .dashdog Adoption Fee $450 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON .dashdog and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD. Please READ ALL of our info below BEFORE SENDING APPLICATION. Our goal is to help our puppies and dogs find FOREVER HOMES AND FAMILIES, NOT TO MAKE IT PROHIBITIVE FOR YOU TO ADOPT. However, once we review the application and contact you, we MEET TO ADOPT, so please let us know if you are ONLY APPLYING TO STAY ON FILE or THAT YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT, for the consideration of our puppies and dogs and families who know the time is right! 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
