Email: ddrtxinfogmail Primary Website: .DDRTX Meet Fitzgerald! This charming doxie mix was discovered wandering the streets of the valley, infested with fleas and ticks. A shelter rescued him, checked for a microchip, and attempted to locate his family. Unfortunately, no one came forward, so they reached out to DDRT for assistance. Now, let's have some fun—what type of wire-haired dachshund mix do you think Fitzgerald is? From the initial photos, we speculated he might be a “Dorgi” (Dachshund/Corgi), while his foster mom now believes he could be a “Dachsador” (Dachshund/Labrador Retriever). One thing is certain: he is an incredibly sweet, intelligent, and adorable wire-haired dachshund mix! Weighing in at 39 pounds of pure handsomeness, he’s a big boy! Fitzi is adjusting to his foster family's home. His foster mom suspects he may not have lived indoors before, as he doesn’t exhibit typical “inside dog” behaviors. However, he is very bright and learning quickly. He is already potty trained, walks well on a leash, and gets along with other dogs. He absolutely adores giving kisses—perhaps a bit too much, but we're working on that! His favorite activities include receiving love, pets, and scritches. He is discovering toys, how to play, and will try the comfort of a cozy dog bed but isn't too confident in it and will still sleep on the floor.
