Why You’ll Love Sunny:
Twirls with delight when it’s time for dinner or a walk Smart, eager to learn, and picks up new tricks quickly Deeply loving once he feels safe – a true heart dog Easygoing at home, enjoys calm environments Loyal, joyful, and always ready to smile Barks appropriately (to alert) and quiets upon request
About Sunny’s Breed Mix:
Sunny appears to be a unique blend of Pomeranian, American Eskimo, and Border Collie. This mix gives him his cleverness, expressive face, and that joyful, alert energy. He’s incredibly smart, emotionally attuned, and surprisingly agile for his size. He thrives with routine, clear communication, and a calm, respectful environment where his sensitive and loyal nature can shine.
Sunny’s Story & Personality:
Sunny is a healthy, playful, affectionate dog with beautiful manners and a heart full of love. He’ll prefer to be near you often, but also prefers his own personal space – except a few times a day when he lays his head in your lap for gentle scratches and cuddles.
He needs a gentle, confident person who isn’t looking for a lap dog. He takes some time to warm up to new people and appreciates space around his bed or resting areas. Sunny does love affection, but it has to be on his terms with people he trusts. Let him come to you, and you’ll be rewarded with soft snuggles and a lifetime of loyal companionship.
Sunny has a tendency towards some mild resource guarding (toys and his favorite people), but redirects easily with calm, clear corrections. He’s naturally calm, well-behaved, and respectful. He’s also fully potty-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside.
Sunny loves walks, adventure, and showing off his growing trick repertoire. He does get reactive around other dogs when on leash, so he’ll need continued training to help him continue his progress with that – or will simply need a fenced-in yard for exercise.
Sunny’s Ideal Home:
Adults-only
Calm, confident dog person (no dominance or fear-based punitive training)
Respectful person who won’t take it personally that he takes time to build trust
Familiar with gentle boundary-setting and managing light resource guarding
A peaceful home, ideally with routines and structure
Either a fenced-in yard or someone confident handling leash reactivity
Ready for Sunny To Brighten Your Life?
Sunny is a gem of a dog for the right person – someone who doesn’t need instant affection to feel connected, who understands the beauty of trust that grows slowly and deeply. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, emotionally intelligent companion who thrives in respectful partnership, Sunny just might be your perfect match.
