ely, suffered a fall and had to move in with family. Once in her care, his daughter realized Maverick hadn’t received the training and attention he needed as a young pup. She sent him to a board-and-train program and reached out to our rescue for help, knowing her dad could no longer meet Maverick’s needs.
Now in foster care, Maverick is thriving and ready to start his next chapter! He’s currently living with foster mom Debbie, her teenage son, two dogs, and a cat. Maverick integrated beautifully with both dogs and, after a gradual intro, learned to peacefully coexist with the cat too. While he’d love a home with other playful pups, he’s confident and social enough to do well as an only dog, too.
Maverick is an active, happy boy who loves playtime and walks, but also knows how to relax and snuggle. He still pulls a bit on leash; he wasn’t walked much in his previous home, but he's already improving with daily practice.
After just a week, Maverick has picked Debbie as his person and follows her everywhere. He’s affectionate, snuggly, and enjoys curling up on the couch for movie time. He’s crate-trained, potty-trained, and doing great, though he had a couple of accidents early on, as many dogs do when adjusting to a new routine.
Debbie shared:
“This little fluffy guy is so much fun! He’ll be a great family pup. He does great with new people, and I think he’d be wonderful with kids. He still has a few puppy behaviors—like playful mouthing—but nothing concerning, and it’s already improving. He’s really a well-balanced, adaptable dog who just needs a loving home and a little consistency.”
Maverick is ready to bring joy, energy, and lots of love to a new family. Apply today to learn more about this sweet boy!
