She is a small breed, we aren't sure her mix but we're thinking possibly Jack Russell, Corgi, Australian Cattle Dog? We believe she is 3-4 years old. She is about 25 pounds. She gets along well with other dogs. She's little bit nervous with new people at first. She has just started at the Arkansas Paws in Prison program where we hope she will gain some confidence. In her foster home, she had a habit of slipping past her foster family and bolting out the door. She comes back but only when she's ready. She needs to work on her recall and her habit of bolting. We are hopeful the trainers at Paws in Prison can work with her on that! Her foster mom says Charlie is “super loveable and loves to cuddle.” Now, that’s a ringing endorsement! Unfortunately, Charlie is heartworm positive so she will be undergoing treatment for this. She is spayed and UTD on vaccinations. Paws in prison is an amazing program where dogs are paired with inmates whom they are with 24/7 for 8 weeks. The inmates work with the dogs everyday on basic training, basic obedience, house training, leash training, etc. and even some tricks! They meet weekly with a certified dog trainer. This is a wonderful program and so beneficial for the dogs and the inmates! Charlie will graduate from Paws in Prison in August. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
