not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at .rescuecrew. Ginny is a sweet, smart, and adorably fluffy 12-week-old Great Pyrenees mix puppy, currently weighing about 18 pounds—and growing fast! She’s expected to be a large dog when fully grown and is already showing off her confident, independent personality. Ginny is playful and curious, thriving in her foster home as she explores the world, plays with toys, and learns her puppy manners. She knows how to sit and lie down and is learning to ring bells to go outside. She loves being outdoors and would do best in a home with a fenced yard where she can roam and sniff to her heart’s content. At night, she sleeps in a crate by her foster’s bed without any fuss. On the rare occasion she needs to go out before morning, she’ll gently whine to let you know—then goes right back to sleep in her crate like a pro. Ginny is doing well with potty training, though she still has accidents. Most of the time, she goes outside and is learning quickly. She’s been around large dogs and holds her own just fine. She’s also interested in the household cat—she likes him and often sniffs and play-bows, but will chase when he doesn’t accept her playful advances. A dog-savvy cat is best. While Ginny enjoys cuddling, she has an independent side too. She’ll snuggle in close for a bit but often moves a few feet away, likely because she gets warm easily with her thick, fluffy coat. Ginny hasn’t been exposed to children yet, but she loves everyone she meets. Like any young puppy, she has sharp little teeth and will need lots of chew toys. Supervision is recommended around young children. Ginny is looking for a loving forever home ready for a big, loyal, intelligent pup who will grow into a wonderful lifelong friend—with continued training, patience, and space to play. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at .RescueCrew. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
