ly in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team 260093 Date into Rescue: 05/17/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Katrina was found as a stray and landed at a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter. Foster location: Foster Home in Raleigh, NC Special Needs? Katrina is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Katrina arrived in rescue with inflamed, angry, infected skin. It has been treated and is continuing to heal. On 06/30/25 Katrina had a dental polishing. Weight: 11.75 lbs Height: 12 Spayed/Neutered: Unknown Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No, but she would love one. Katrina has a fenced yard in her foster home and enjoys the freedom of a slow stroll around the yard to feel the sun on her skin. What kind of home would be best for me? Katrina is looking for a home where someone is home during the day and wants a dog that wants to be on them or near them at all times. There is not an independent bone in her body - she is a stage 1 clinger. She loves her small foster brother and would welcome another playful dog in the home, but it isn't a requirement. She's been with cats and was completely indifferent. She's met children and thinks they are just fine - it's more hands to love on her. The main thing is no shared walls. Katrina is not afraid to demand attention, let you know there are visitors, or generally sing the song of her people when she is bored. It can be loud, it is adorable, it is not for apartment or townhome life. What is my personality like? Sweet, bossy Katrina. How we love this girl! Found as a stray in poor condition, Kristina has spent her time in foster healing her body and learning what pampered princess life is all about. She's found that laps are amazing, petting is even better, and that it's okay to demand love and affection - humans will happily oblige. Seriously, she is the BEST friend you'll ever have if you want a dog that wants to be with you ALL THE TIME. In her foster home, Kristina enjoys playing with her 18-month-old toy poodle foster brother. She initiates play easily and enjoys a good romp around the yard or tug of war. Katrina doesn't play with all dogs; like humans she picks her friends. That said, she does love to play and would enjoy having a dog sibling with whom she gets along. She won't play with your dog immediately - but give it 2 weeks and you won't be able to separate them. Katrina is a great girl. She is potty trained in her foster home. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom and foster dog sibling. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. Katrina is an easy dog to love and one that will give you her entire heart and soul in return. How do I act when I first meet new people? Katrina can be a little shy when she meets new people. Give her a few moments and she'll warm right up. Within a day you will literally not be able to go anywhere without her. Other tips and tidbits: Katrina was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 10 years old. We celebrate her birthday 05/17/2015. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
