been blossoming with love, care, and good food. He’s gained healthy weight and muscle tone, especially in his hindquarters, and his coat is looking much better – less dandruff and much less shedding. He’s definitely still on the road to tip-top health, but we’re so proud of how far he’s come!
Grooming Champion Junior is an absolute champ when it comes to grooming! He patiently lets you brush him and trim his nails, and we’re even working on getting him comfortable with tooth brushing. He's a laid-back guy… unless he’s snoring – then he's hilariously loud for such a mellow pup!
Smart & Willing to Learn Junior has been impressing everyone with his training progress. He’s picking up both verbal and hand signal commands like a pro, including: Come, Sit, Stay/Wait/Stop, Take It, Down, Stand Up, Gentle, Get Out There, High-Five/Fist-Bump, Out, Right Here, What Is This, Ah-Dat-Dat, Hurry Up (for potty time).
We're still working on recall, and we think he may have some hearing loss – he responds better to hand signals and sometimes needs louder or higher-pitched verbal cues. He reminds us a lot of another partially deaf boxer we’ve known – always keeping an eye on his humans and eager to stay close.
Certified Cuddle Buddy If you’re looking for a couch companion, Junior is your guy. He lives for snuggles and will gently climb right up next to you (or on top of you!) for pets and love. He gives the most soulful puppy dog eyes, just waiting for your invitation to cuddle.
Dog-Friendly & Sun-Loving Junior enjoys the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with a calm canine buddy. He’s not overly playful, but sometimes gets a little wrestling energy going when encouraged! He also loves lounging outside and soaking up the sunshine.
‍♂️ Great on Leash Walks with Junior are a joy – he’s fantastic on leash and walks right by your side at your pace. He doesn’t pull, and while he might trot for a bit, he’s not a runner. He can be a little clumsy and stiff at times, which makes us think he may have some joint pain or early arthritis. This is something we recommend a vet evaluate further.
Needs a Family Who’s Home Often Junior struggles with separation anxiety and cannot be left alone for long. He has a history of panicking in a kennel and has injured himself trying to escape. While we’re working on helping him with this, Junior would thrive in a home where he’s rarely alone – ideally with someone home most of the time and a doggy friend for company. He may benefit from medication or professional support to help him feel more secure when apart from his humans.
Health & Diet He’s currently eating Nutrisource (not grain-free) and doing really well on it – his digestion has improved and his stool is now healthy and consistent.
Junior’s Ideal Home: Another calm, friendly dog for companionship
Someone home most of the time
A family committed to working on his separation anxiety
A relaxed lifestyle – he’s more of a lounger than an adventurer
Willingness to continue his training and possibly address hearing or joint concerns with a vet
Junior is a gentle soul with a heart full of love. He just wants to be near his people, soak up the sun, and enjoy a calm, comfortable life. If you’re looking for a quiet, affectionate companion who just wants to be loved and never left behind, Junior could be your perfect match.
