All about Girly Pop:
Girly Pop is a fantastic pup, and her foster is in love with her! Here's what she says:
"Girly Pop is the quintessential family dog. She is a solid pup, both in temperament and physically. The physical part is great - she loves to push her big head under my arm and melt into me for pets.
From the start, she has been delighted to meet all the neighbors and keeps wagging her tail excitedly when people talk to her! She is similarly thrilled when encountering people on our walks - she will look hopefully at them to see if they want to meet, but come along with me if I don't allow her to approach.
She is amazing in the home.
No potty accidents so far. No chewing on unauthorized items. Responds well when I call her. The one time she barked at the door, I called her, she stopped barking and came immediately. Slept quietly overnight in her crate the first two nights I had her. Quickly showed me that she could be trusted in my (dogproofed) home, so I now allow her free roam overnight and when I'm out. Calmly let me bathe her and clip her nails I work from home a lot and she is a fantastic WFH buddy! Curls up and chills, waiting for me to take a break and give her some love or take the dogs for a walk. I have two dogs of my own, 8-lb and 19-lb males and she's really good with both of them. My 8-lb male loves the larger females and initiates play - Girly Pop played perfectly with him considering she is 10X his size! She is so gentle. She also plays happily with big stuffies by herself.
Girly Pop is not the definition of her name - "cutesy, bubbly." She is an all-around solid, mature, loving dog who clearly has lived in a home before, was trained to obey her humans, and is not high energy. She will be great in a home with or without other dogs. Her forever family and she will be very lucky to have each other."
Heartworm information: Girly Pop is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
