rsquo;m enjoying the good life in a great foster home where I get to run and play with my 2 furry foster bros, as well as, I get plenty of cuddles and lap time with my foster Mom, who thinks I’m just a wonderful boy! I also really enjoy playing with kids in addition to other dogs, so I’m hoping my new home will have kids, other dogs and like to be active and maybe even be up for a few adventure together. One of my other favorite things to do besides playing is to splash around in a kiddy pool. So I’m also hoping my new home will have one of those too or be close to water in addition to having a nice sized fenced in yard for me to come home too. Even though I’m very smart and have come a long way, says my foster Mom, my new family will still need to be patient, have lots of love and give me time as I’m still learning even at my age. I’m also hoping to find a family who maybe works from home or at least is home more than they are away. Oh and before I forget, I’m house/crate trained and have been checked from nose to tail so I’m up to date on all my vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative and micro-chipped! I have also been cat test and even checked out the bearded dragon and passed with flying colors. So now all that’s missing is a place for me to call home Forever, Is that your home? If so, please consider filling out an application for me, JW/NJ online at: nbran/adopt/adoption-application. Once your application is submitted the coordinator in the State where you reside will follow-up with you. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here nbran/about/state-provincial-coordinators. My adoption fee is 400.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brits like me, JW/NJ, back to good health and readying them for adoption. Don't live in New Jersey or close by, No Problem! NBRAN also has a wonderful transport team willing to help bring Brits like me, JW/NJ to their new family, up to 1400 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Still have questions, Contact Regional Director Chris Eddinger at ceddingerverizon Thank you. youtu.be/MMSoJqbTw18

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
