y in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

What kind of home would be best for me? Hamilton is a quiet, gentle standard poodle who carries himself with a cautious kind of grace. He doesn’t expect much—a calm home, a soft place to sleep, a full bowl, and the time and space to grow into the dog he was always meant to be. But what he does need, more than anything else, is another dog.
Hamilton is looking for: A calm, patient household, a big, confident dog companion to help him navigate this new life, time, love, and plenty of food (he’s definitely figured out the joy of mealtime!), a family that doesn’t expect perfection, but simply wants to walk beside him as he learns.
What is my personality like? Meet Hamilton – A Gentle Soul Searching for Love, Guidance, and a Best Friend to Lean On. Sweet Hamilton has lived along life in his minimal years. Raised in a puppy mill, love was never something he was given—routine, kindness, comfort, even basic affection were all foreign to him. But now, for the first time, Hamilton is discovering what it means to be cherished, and he’s learning to believe that the world might just be a beautiful place after all. No kidding he's a little overwhelmed and a little shocked.
Hamilton’s world only makes sense when he has a confident canine sibling by his side—a buddy to show him how to be brave, how to play, how to exist in this strange but wonderful thing called home. Without that anchor, the world feels just a little too big. But with another dog to follow, to learn from, to love? Hamilton shines in his own quiet way.
Though his past left scars, it did not take his hope. He’s working hard to understand this new life—he’s learning how to trust, how to walk on a leash, how to enjoy routine, and how to let his guard down when someone kind reaches out a hand. Every day, Hamilton takes a few more brave steps toward healing. Every tail wag, every slow blink, every moment of trust is a victory. He is learning to love. He is learning to live. And now, he just needs someone to walk this road with him—slowly, kindly, and with their heart wide open.
Hamilton isn’t just looking for a home. He’s looking for a family to show him that he is finally, fully safe.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Hamilton doesn’t rush into love, but when it comes… it’s deep and lasting.
Other tips and tidbits: Hamilton was seized in a cruelty case so we have no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 3.5 years old. We celebrate his birthday 04/10/2022.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
