IS ON .dashdog. PLEASE complete OUR application if you are interested in meeting our dogs or puppies! Without OUR application being completed, you WILL NOT be considered or receive any communication from us. Thank You! ***AND our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND TAKE HIM OR HER HOME! Milo! Milo has all the traits in Aussies people love (but not the traits that can be harder to handle). Milo is a super sweet, shy and quiet companion dog. He will be coy and shy at first but once he settles in he loves being petted and cuddled. Milo came from a loving home but the kids were getting older, louder and busier and he was kind of … overlooked. He doesn’t try to get attention so it’s easy for him to be in a quiet spot chilling out all day. Milo loves walks and is good in the car. He hasn’t done as much car-tripping as he could because he’s the calm observant type who likes to assess the scene and take it all in. Milo is NOT a barker. He doesn’t need toys he’s just more interested in hanging out by his human and taking in the scene. Milo was from a puppy mill and spent the beginning of his life over-crated and not getting outside enough. His back legs have always been a little stuff but it doesn’t stop him from walking or running when he wants to! Hes been well-cared for and doesn’t have any health issues. Milo uses doggie stairs to get on the bed; he can jump but usually doesn’t choose to. He also like den-like places such as under a platform bed. He will even go into a cozy crate tho he doesn’t really need one. Milo would be happy in an apartment or house. He’s a companion not a playmate but gets along with other dogs. He’s a little aloof at first but definitely not an alpha dog so he will defer to any other dog in the house. Milo would be a great cuddle-buddy for young retirees or empty nesters. He’s fine with kids but we hope to find a home where they just visit so he can have some peace. Milo just needs some patience and compassion. He has zero reactivity or aggression to people or dogs and would be fine with cats. He’s a bit like a cat; he doesn’t demand or ask anything so it’s important to keep him near you so he gets regular petting, belly rubs and ear-scratching. Milo is ready for a forever home to decompress in. I’ve only had him a few days but he was comfortable the first night and is definitely very relaxed with each passing day. Quiet, loving, curious, shy but longing to be someone’s special baby Milo is a doll Application: .dashdog Then: Please text Sara: 214-549-9905 Thank you! .dashdog APPLICATION REQUIRED from .dashdog Adoption Fee $450 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON .dashdog and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
