: 65lb Potty-Trained: yes Crate-Trained: yes, but we have not used a crate specifically in years. She just is in a gated room if needing to be contained Dog-Friendly: yes Cat-Friendly: unknown. It's been a while since she was around them but last time she was indifferent Kid-Friendly: yes Can they do stairs?: yes Are they a barker?: occasional yes. When people come home she is a vocal greeter but calms down quickly Current Health Concerns (if applicable): needs to lose a bit of weight. Current Medications (if applicable): heartworm and flea/ tick prevent Reason for Surrendering: her companion dog (10 years) is unwell and needing more care for end of life. Additionally, we are expecting another baby. T deserves more than we are able to give her in this season. It breaks our hearts to explore the option of surrendering, but we are also trying to do right by her in giving her a life of thriving - rather than getting the short straw all the time. As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal. Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.   3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet

  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life.
