in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Date into Rescue:7/19/25
Reason for being in rescue: Marty was found as a stray and landed at a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter.
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Marty is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Marty was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Our best estimate is that he is a doodle. We cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed.
Weight: 50 lbs
Height: 24 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $599
Fence needed? Yes, Marty requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.
What kind of home would be best for me? Marty is looking for a home that embraces chaos in the most loving way—a family that’s ready for endless laughter, muddy paw prints, daily adventures, and surprise cuddle attacks. Another dog in the home would be a blast for him, but he’d also thrive with active humans who just get his go-go-go spirit. This boy is HIGH ENERGY and looking for a home that wants that sort of activity.
He’s not just looking for a home. Marty is looking for a stage, a fan club, and a partner in crime. If you’re ready for a best friend who will treat every day like it’s the first day of summer break—Marty is your guy.
What is my personality like? Marty - The Doodle Who’s Never Met a Stranger (or a Speed Limit)! Meet Marty, a doodle so full of life, we’re pretty sure he runs on espresso, sunshine, and raw enthusiasm. Marty doesn’t walk—he rockets. In fact, we’re convinced he was born mid-zoom and just never stopped. Whether it's playtime with humans, dogs, children, your mailman, or a squirrel he just met, Marty is all in.
From the moment he bursts into your world (and yes, it will be a burst), Marty is ready for action. Adventure - Always. Cuddles - Yes, but can we play first! Other dog - The more the merrier. Your family's chaos - Sounds fun. Your grumpy uncle who doesn't like dogs - Marty’s on a mission to win him over. He’s the kind of guy who would carpool with you to work if he could and then become best friends with your coworkers and the UPS driver on the way.
When Marty arrived in rescue, he was a matted mess—but honestly, he didn’t know that. And even if he did, he wouldn’t have cared. He was too busy celebrating his freedom and politely asking everyone in the room to throw him a toy. Now let’s talk logistics: Marty needs leash training. Badly. Not because he’s stubborn, but because he has absolutely no idea that leashes are supposed to slow you down. In Marty’s world, everything is exciting and deserves to be explored right now. He’s not afraid of the leash—it just cramps his style. He’ll need someone to help him understand that walking with humans is just as fun as charging ahead of them like he’s leading a parade.
He’ll also need some help learning basic cues like “sit,” “stay,” and “maybe don’t launch yourself like a cannonball at Grandma.” But don’t worry—Marty is smart, eager to please, and food motivated. With a little time and consistency, he’ll pick it all up (when he remembers to stop zooming long enough to listen).
How do I act when I first meet new people? Mary LOVES people and dogs and people and dogs. He is going to bound into the room at full speed, ready to play.
Other tips and tidbits: Marty was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition, the shelter aged him at 2 years old. We celebrate his birthday 7/20/23.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
