swirls of milk and dark chocolate. Her adorably floppy ears bounce with joy when she romps around - a heart-melting sight you’ll never get tired of! Cupcake has clearly been through a lot and has had a few litters, but now it’s her time to be spoiled, pampered, and loved like the baby she truly is. She’s as sweet and soft as her name suggests, gently cozying up to you and adoring every hug, kiss, and treat (which she takes oh-so-politely). A bit underweight, she’s ready to grow into her best, healthiest self with a little nourishment and a whole lot of love. Cupcake would also be a lovely little sister to your current pups - she’s been nothing but kind and respectful with other dogs and is ready to start her happily-ever-after. Will you give this sweet treat the good life she’s always deserved? -1 year 1 month old brown brindle pit bull -60 pound spayed female -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 6/28/25 as an internal transfer from another shelter, to give her more time to be adopted! -breathtaking brown brindle coat - strikingly tiger striped in a mix of milk and dark chocolate hues - and fetchingly floppy ears that cheerfully bounce whenever she romps around in excitement -has clearly had a few litters, but now it's her turn to be loved on and pampered like the baby she is! -just as sweet and soft as her namesake - absolutely loooooves all the hugs and kisses you can give her, and will give you 10x as much love back in return -a bit underweight - could use more nutrition and treats to grow into her best self, but despite what she's been through, she is so gentle and takes treats very nicely -this girl has had a hard life and will shower you with gratitude for giving her the fresh start she so deeply deserves - you'll be rewarded with a lifetime of ALL the love and loyalty you could ever want! -could even be a good little sister to your existing pets - has always been appropriate and receptive to other dogs ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed above. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
