and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Matt & Francie Cronlund Adopted 07/24/25 Date into Rescue: 06/26/25 Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by his owner so he can find a home with more time to dedicate to his passion - playing fetch Foster location: Foster home in Greensboro, NC Special Needs? Remy is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is a little afraid of fireworks and thunder, so he will need some extra snuggles during storms. Remy is not hypoallergenic. Weight: 15.5 lbs Height: 12 in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, but he would enjoy one. What kind of home would be best for me? Remy is an active boy who would do best with a furry friend to romp with and a family who likes to go on walks or hikes. Remy needs another dog in the home with him, he loves to play and would be happiest with a furry friend! He's smart so being intellectually engaged will be important, too. He does well with older kids but hasn't been tested with younger kids or cats. What is my personality like? Remy is a real character - he has the classic schnauzer attitude (inquisitive, alert, and a little stubborn), but he has the poodle athleticism and likes to sleep in the iconic poodle pretzel shape. He's a smart cookie - he knows all the basic commands and is learning new ones quickly. We are working on the "wait" command because he gets very excited to go through doors (even inside doors, he once ended up in the pantry with the canned goods!). He is picking up on the new command very well and would enjoy learning new tricks. Remy loves to play. He spends time every day wrestling with his foster siblings. He has done very well with dogs of all sizes so far! He is respectful of their boundaries and is able to set his own without a fuss. Once he has worn out his foster siblings, he likes to play fetch with his favorite toy, a rubber corn cob. After a nice romp or game of fetch, he would like to join a Zoom call from your lap at work or snooze with you on the couch. You definitely won't be doing anything alone with this little guy in the house! Remy doesn't seem to be a huge fan of the grass, especially when it is wet. He'd rather go on walks or hikes with his humans than run around in a yard. He's a gentleman on a leash and in the car - but make sure you buckle him in or he'll try to help you drive! He can be a bit reserved if he's out in a crowd, but he loves to check out the new smells wherever he goes, all while keeping a close eye on his human. Remy goes in his crate on command and keeps it clean but would prefer a family who includes him in their plans rather than being left alone. He has been a great little house guest who doesn't make messes or get into anything he shouldn't, but he will gleefully de-stuff a soft toy or dog bed. He sleeps well in his crate at night but would probably prefer to be the little spoon in the bed. How do I act when I first meet new people? Remy can be reserved at first, especially if there is a lot going on or he's in a new space, but don't worry, once he gets to know you he'll be your little shadow! Other tips and tidbits: Remy enjoys his birthday cake on 05/13/21. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
