ome FOEVER! The first thing you need to know about me is I’m currently in a great foster home here in Southwest Ohio. Secondly, don’t let my age fool ya! I still have lots of energy. I love to run and play all day, as well as go for long walks even though I’m still trying to get a handle on this leash thing. I am also try to figure out these things called stairs. Right now, I do my best to avoid them by jump over or around them to get into my Foster yard. So, it maybe best if my new home didn't have too many stairs or could be patient with me until I learned how to manage them better. Another thing you need to know about me is I do not like being a single gal. So, my new home will need to have at least 1 doggy friend for me to hang out with who hopefully enjoys running and playing outdoors as much as I do. My new home also needs a physically fenced yard roomy enough for me and all my doggy friends to explore, as well as, check for critters too. I have not been officially cat tested but they certainly sound like fun things to chase, so it maybe best if my new home was cat free. Oh and last but not least, I am house/crate trained and have been checked from nose to tail so I’m up to date on all my vaccines, spayed, heartworm negative and micro-chipped too! So now all that’s missing is a place for me to call home Forever, Is that your home? If so, please consider filling out an application for me, Maisie/OH online at: nbran/adopt/adoption-application. Once your application is submitted the coordinator in the State where you reside will follow-up with you. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here nbran/about/state-provincial-coordinators. My adoption fee is 350.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brits like me, Maisie, back to good health and readying them for adoption. Don't live in Ohio or close by, No Problem! NBRAN also has a wonderful transport team willing to help bring Brits like me, Maisie to their new family, up to 1400 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Still have questions, Contact Ohio Coordinators Roberta Ruck at roberta.ruckgmail or Erin Kennedy aterinkennedy459yahoo or Regional Director Chris Eddinger at ceddingerverizon Thank you.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
