Adoption Application. If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application. Meet Goliath! Goliath aka Golie is such a FANTASTIC puppy. As of 8/1/25 he has been staying at casa de ARWOB which means he is amazing with dogs and cats. He adores humans and is always running to strangers to say "whats up" all the humans he meets at the dog parks adore him but sadly no one is looking to adopt a larger breed like Golie. Are you? if so, please read on! Medically Goliath is healthy strong pup UTD on all medical. Behaviorally he is a golden good boi! He was rescued off the streets of baja in Ensenada, we still have several of his siblings who are stuck in Baja for lack of fosters. As soon as Golie gets adopted we can make room for 1-2 of his siblings to come up north to be fostered here. This is what his foster mom has to say about him: Goliath is as of 8/1 50 pounds and is approx 7 months which means he will be a large breed when full grown probably in the 70-90 pound range. He has great bone structure though and LOVES to run around. Adorable big and longh footsies ha ha Golie is a sweetheart. I have been carring for him for a couple of months and he is now crate trained. He is mostly house and potty trained BUT lets face it he is still a young pupy and should expect accidents. He is excellent in his crate, has never had an accident and can be in there for 8-9hrs at night. He can stay in the crate during the day for short stints. He would NOT do well being left in the crate for long stints during the day at this young age. He enjoys car rides. No leash reactivity. Is VERY food motivated which makes for fast learning. He knows how to sit and is very bright. He loves toys and anything to chew like benabones and bully sticks. Stuff kongs and licky matts are great distractions. He is goes to the dog park regularly and makes friends with both human and canine alike. He is not a big barker, typically only barks when playing with dog friends. Has not shown any protective/alert barking BUT when he does bark he has a nice BOOM of a bark ha ha He would be a wonderful new addition for single adults, family with children or even retirees looking for a young happy outgoing playful pup. Has not lived with children but does great with them when meeting them. He is cat safe as he shares the home with multiple foster cats and kittens. If you are ready for a pup like this handsome boy, please submit an application and we will schedule a phone call and hopefully move forward to schedule a meet and greet. If you are interested in this cute guy, please submit an online application TODAY! .arwob If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
