ly in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 06/04/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Raleigh Puppy Mill bust Foster location: Foster Home in Raleigh, NC Special Needs? Chief is up to date on vaccines for his age. Chief arrived in rescue with sarcoptic mange. He has been treated and is now ready for his forever home. Chief's mom Vanilla is a beautiful cream pomeranian. He has all the markings of a pomeranian, but was born into a puppy mill where there were also chihuahuas and poodles. We cannot guarantee that he is 100% pomeranian. He is 1000% adorable! Chief is not hypoallergenic and does shed. Chief requires another small, active dog in the home. Chief will be ready for his forever home on September 20, 2025. We are accepting applications to adopt now. Weight: 1.7 lbs and growing - we expect Chief will be between 12-18 lbs when full grown Height: 5 in and growing - we expect Chief will be 12-14 inches when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No. Chief is too small to be neutered at this time. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to neuter him at your expense within 9 months and provide proof of neuter. Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? We are looking for a very specific home for Chief. If you do not meet all of these criteria, your application will not be considered. First, Chief requires another active dog in the home. He loves to play and is looking for a canine playmate in his forever home. Second, we are looking for a home that embraces pets the way her foster home does. This means dogs are allowed on the furniture, they can sleep in the bed if they want, and they are beloved members of families. Third, Chief requires a family where someone is home more than they are away. You could work from home, home school, be an active retiree or have a stay-at-home family member. The key is that your dogs are not alone for more than 2-3 hours each day. Finally, Chief is looking for a home that takes their dogs places. Socialization with other people and animals is key. It could be road trips, running errands, visits with family, planned playdates with friends, etc. What is my personality like? Chief is the smallest puppy of his litter. Chief has absolutely no idea he is smaller than his siblings. He will wrestle, play, and join the merriment as if they were all equals. And then he snuggles up. He is a sweet boy who needs a family who will protect him until he grows a bit larger and not treat him as a handbag accessory, but as a real dog. Chief’s personality will give his families smiles all day long. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc.) How do I act when I first meet new people? Chief is a happy, gregarious puppy who loves everyone he meets. Other tips and tidbits: Chief arrived in rescue a young pup with his eyes still closed. His exact birthday is unknown. We celebrate his birthday 05/19/2025. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
