y in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Height: 22 in and growing - we expect Nico will be 24 inches when full grown
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $599
Fence needed? Yes, Nico requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.
What kind of home would be best for me? As a young puppy, Nico is full of energy and playful spirit, so he’ll need a good outlet for all that bounce—whether that’s romping in a fenced yard, going on daily walks, or playing an enthusiastic game of fetch. He adores other dogs and would be over the moon to have a canine buddy to romp with. That said, he’d also do wonderfully as your one-and-only, as long as he gets plenty of chances each week to socialize with other dogs and people—because in his mind, the more friends, the better. Puppies also need socialization as they age to create a well-rounded dog that is comfortable in society.

What is my personality like? Meet Nico – Your New Shadow! Nico is an 8-month-old Standard Poodle puppy with one simple mission in life—love you with his whole heart and be part of everything you do. Whether you’re walking from room to room, heading out into the yard, or settling in for a quiet evening, Nico will be right there, tail wagging, soaking up every moment by your side. He loves pets, he loves playtime, and most of all, he loves you.
Being a puppy, Nico is still learning the ropes. Potty training, leash manners, and basic cues are all things he’ll need to work on, but with his smarts and eagerness to please, he’s sure to catch on quickly. He’s also still learning what a crate is, and with gentle encouragement, he’s making great progress and growing more comfortable by the day.
PUPPY POLICY:
Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog.
Our ideal puppy adopters are:
-experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets
-scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home
-stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc)
If you’re searching for a loving, energetic, and devoted companion who will follow you through every adventure and every cuddle session, Nico is ready to grow into the perfect best friend—right by your side.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Nico is curious and friendly. He may not bound right up to you, but he'll give you his attention and, once he knows you are safe, shower you with love.
Other tips and tidbits: Nico's birthday is 11/29/2024.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
