A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

What kind of home would be best for me? Rocket was the beloved companion to a family with teenage children. Life and financial commitments landed him in rescue looking for a homw that has the time he wants and needs. We promised him we'd get it right! Rocket adores other dogs, but truthfully, he’d be just as happy being your one and only. What matters most to him is time with his people, so he would thrive in a home where his family is home far more than they’re away. He’s not the kind of pup who’s happy waiting for hours—he wants to be part of your day, every day, all day! He is your shadow, your shirt, and your heart.
Now, a little honesty—Rocket is a talker. He barks in excitement when he sees you, and when joy hits him, he can’t help but announce it to the world. Because of his vocal personality, he’d do best in a detached home rather than an apartment or shared wall situation.
What is my personality like? Rocket – Your Personal Velcro Pup! If you’re looking for a dog who will love you so much he practically fuses himself to your hip, meet Rocket. This little Mini Poodle lives for being held—he’ll ask to be picked up, and the moment you put him down, he’s asking to be scooped right back up again. His favorite place in the whole world - Your arms.
Don’t let his snuggle bug tendencies fool you—Rocket has an active side too! He loves to play outside, zip around the yard, and soak up every ounce of attention while he’s at it. A fenced-in yard would make him happiest, but he’d also be content with multiple fun walks a day to keep him moving and engaged.
One more thing—Rocket is awesome at the vet’s office. Charming, cooperative, and calm, he takes his visits like a pro and wins over everyone he meets. Rocket is looking for a family who wants a constant companion—a little shadow who will run to greet you, play with you, and curl up in your arms at the end of the day. If you’ve ever wanted a dog that loves you to the moon and back and then some, Rocket is ready for launch.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
