is no longer able to care for her. Because of this difficult situation, Aria is now looking for her forever family—one that can provide her with the love and warmth that she truly deserves for the rest of her life. We sincerely appreciate any help you can offer in spreading the word about Aria’s search for a new home. Every share can make a meaningful difference in connecting her with that special family she needs. Thank you so much for your kindness and support during this time! Below is Aria's bio prior to her adoption and her adopter shares that she has been the best girl. "Meet Aria – Adventure Buddy, Couch Cuddler, Certified Good Girl Aria is currently being fostered by me (her trainer/foster mom), and honestly… she’s kind of perfect. She rides like a dream in the car She’s crate trained and has been totally trustworthy free-roaming She’s always down for an adventure, but also has the world’s best “off switch” And her snuggle game? Ridiculously strong. Zero personal space. If you’re on the couch, she’s on you. So why is she with me? She didn’t mesh well with the other female dog in her previous home — and that’s not unusual. Same-sex dog conflicts happen more often than people realize. But she does great with my senior male shepherd. They’re not besties, but they’re calm, neutral roommates who coexist peacefully. I’d honestly keep her myself if it weren’t for one thing: she chases my chickens. And, well… I kind of like my chickens. Aria is 110,000% trainer-approved for a dog-free home that’s looking for a low-maintenance best friend who loves both hikes and hugs. I’m even offering a few free training sessions to help her transition smoothly into her forever home. She’s come a long way in just a month, and she’s ready to be someone’s everything." When your trainer (Paws n Play) gives you a great write up on the pup who lives with her as a board n train client, you only need to add a few background details such as: Age - just turned 2 years Size - Petite Kid Friendly - Has grown up with two young kids and their assorted friends from the time she was 4 months old in a nanny sharing household. Check out one of Aria's progress posts here as our biography portal only allows us to share one social media post at a time, her trainer's current post is imbedded with her photos. Aria's a bit shy at first meeting but social once she knows you, loves treats, takes direction well, and aims to please. Interested in becoming Aria's forevers? Please complete the adoption application and we'll be in touch to set up a meeting with our adoption counselor and Aria's trainer/foster mom. Have you checked out our YouTube channel? We would greatly appreciate your support by subscribing, liking, and commenting on the videos we share of our adoptable shepherds in action. You can also follow us on Instagram, Facebook and our newest Threads account where we post plenty of news and updates about our shepherds. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
