A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

Date into Rescue: 07/30/2025
Reason for being in rescue: Bellamy was found as a stray and landed at a SC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Bellamy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 08/20/25 she had a dental polishing. Our vet noted that Bellamy will need ongoing dental care. Bellamy was treated for a skin infection that she arrived in rescue with. Bellamy was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on her. She is a doodle of unknown breed mix. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed.

Fence needed? Yes, Bellamy requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.
What kind of home would be best for me? While Bellamy would be perfectly content being the queen of the castle and the only dog in the home, she could also do well with a large, sturdy playmate who enjoys the same rowdy fun she does. Small, fragile, or overly timid dogs - not her scene. She’s a strong, prideful girl who knows her worth and carries herself like the princess she is. But here’s the important part - Bellamy is not dog reactive. She’s actually a social girl who simply plays big and strong.
As for kids, Bellamy would be fine with them, but given her strength and style of play, we recommend children 10 and up who can respect her space and handle her lively personality.

What is my personality like? Meet Bellamy – The Brindle Beauty with a Big Personality! Bellamy isn't just a dog—she’s a force of nature wrapped up in a gorgeous brindle coat. This stunning standard poodle mix is as loving and affectionate as she is playful and strong. She’s got energy to spare and when it’s playtime, she doesn’t hold back—think linebacker moves and high school wrestling vibes. Bellamy is a tough player who loves to tumble and wrestle, and she needs friends (if any) who can keep up with her rough-and-tumble style.
Bellamy is already crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is a champ at grooming. She’s smart and listens well most of the time—though in true poodle fashion, she occasionally plays the “selective hearing” game when it suits her. Bellamy thinks cars are great and rides happily with you. She LOVES to run and play in a fenced yard.
Outside of playtime, Bellamy has a wonderfully independent side. You’ll often find her sniffing around the yard, soaking up the sun, or keeping herself entertained. She enjoys her people deeply, but she also has no problem relaxing on her own when the fun winds down.
Bellamy is French for good friend or beautiful friend. She is gorgeous inside and out.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Bellamy greets you with happy enthusiasm. This girl has never met a stranger!
Other tips and tidbits: Bellamy was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on her. The shelter aged her at 5 years old. Our veterinarian has evaluated Bellamy and re-aged her at 3 years young based on her overall health and condition. We celebrate her birthday 07/28/2022.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
