Mutt Dogs For Adoption in Sandy, UT, USA

Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Hey y’all I’m Ella Langley. “Excuse me. You look like you love me. You look like you want to ta

ke me to my furever home.” My foster mama says I deserve the same name as that beautiful singer because I’ve got a gorgeous brindle coat and am ready to “settle down, dig in some roots, find me a furever home, fine me a YOU!” Girls like me like to be anywhere with you. What you need to know: I’m looking for my forever companion who loves to have me by their side. At 27 pounds (likely to be up to 10 pounds more when I’m full grown) , I’m a perfect medium size dog. My striking black and brown brindle coat is soft and I love melting in your hands when you give me pets. I wag not just my tail, but jump with my whole body in excitement when I see you. I am listed as a pitbull mix, but my mama thinks I might be a whippet/terrier mix I’m a total lovebug who likes to be with my people and foster dog brother. I get along with everyone I met adults and kids, but sometimes I jump up I get so happy! Not sure about cats and I love to chase so maybe best for a home without a feline. My size makes me perfect for an apartment or house with a yard, but please be sure to give me at least 2 walks a day (I don’t pull at all on the leash!) to use up all my energy so I can spend the rest of the day cuddling up next to you. ‍ I’ll go in my crate if I have to when you leave the house if you give me a treat , but I prefer to nap right by your side. My mama said I’m not all looks, I’m also really smart and obedient. I already learned “sit” and “come” and don’t have any accidents in the house when you follow a schedule (putting me outside whenever I wake up, after I eat breakfast and dinner, and before bed). I’m ready to be your devoted companion who will melt your heart daily with my sweet nature and loving gaze. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’re barking up the right tree. If you like a face full of love and loyalty, you ain’t gotta look to far. I’m YOUR dream girl! Come saddle up next to me Rescue Rovers Adoptions at (bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication)

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
