lly in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 07/27/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by owners Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Mars is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 08/09/25 he had a dental polishing. Mars is on cyclosporine eye drops. He receives one drop in each eye once a day. We do not have any documentation that confirms Mars as a purebred poodle. Given this, we will not guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he may not shed. Weight: 60 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Mars requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Mars is, at his core, a total sweetheart. He thrives on being around people and other dogs, and he’ll happily soak up all the attention, pets, and snuggles you can offer. He’s a huge love bug—literally (he’s a big boy!), and his favorite thing in the universe is companionship. That said, Mars does struggle with being left alone. Separation anxiety is real for him, and he makes his feelings known by crying when his people or doggy friends aren’t nearby. Because of this, Mars will need a stand-alone home (apartment walls would never contain his big feelings) and another dog to keep him company when you can’t be right by his side. He’s happiest when he has both a human orbit and a canine buddy to keep his world spinning. Now, about cats… Mars thinks they’re fascinating. Not in a mean way—he’s not aggressive in the slightest—but he’s a big guy with a powerful sniffer and a curious nature. He may accidentally overwhelm or bump into smaller animals without meaning to, so a home without cats would be best. What is my personality like? Meet Mars – The Big, Lovable Planet of a Poodle If you’ve ever dreamed of having your very own planet to orbit around, look no further—his name is Mars. Just like the celestial body, our Mars is big, striking, and impossible to ignore. But instead of craters and red dust, this giant Standard Poodle is covered in curls and overflowing with love. Mars also has some ongoing eye issues, which means he’ll need drops for the rest of his life. But don’t worry—he’s an absolute champ about it. He’ll sit politely and let you give him his medicine like the cooperative star he is. As far as training goes, Mars could use a little refresher on his manners—things like “sit” and leash skills. But we already know he’s a smart boy, and with consistency and patience, he’ll shine brighter than any star. With the right guidance, Mars has the potential to transform from a lovable goofball into a true champion show dog (or at the very least, a champion snuggler). Mars is looking for a home full of patience, love, and the willingness to be his constant companion. If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet, goofy, and loyal best friend who will make your world feel bigger and brighter, Mars is ready to land right in your orbit. How do I act when I first meet new people? Mars is a friendly boy that enjoys making new friends. It's more hands to pet him! Other tips and tidbits: We were told that Mars is 5 years old. His overall condition supports this. His medical records reflect a birthday of 04/14/2020. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
