This handsome pup was found as a stray in Alief, Texas, curled up on someone’s porch with a bite wound on his front leg. We suspect he may have been abandoned, but you would never know it from the way he greets life with an open heart. He needs some dental care and already has missing teeth, so soft food that is easy to chew will keep him comfortable. He also does well with belly bands when indoors. Lancelot has a few quirks that make him even more lovable. If you stop petting too soon, he’ll gently nudge your hand to remind you that he’s not finished with snuggles. When it is time to rest, he can fall asleep just about anywhere. He will sometimes bark in his kennel if he is not ready for bed yet, but overall he is a sweet and easy companion. This easygoing pup would do well in just about any home, especially one that appreciates an affectionate dog and does not mind if he is missing a few teeth. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your senior dog in top shape. Lancelot is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 9/20 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am-12:00pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.
