the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

What kind of home would be best for me? Domino has never known life as a companion. He is accustomed to dogs (lots of them) and routine. You will teach him what being a pet means. His forever home is with a family that can offer him consistency and routine. A family that understands he has never lived in a home and is not house trained but is trying. A family that has another dog - this is non-negotiable. Domino has never known life without canine companions. A family with an abundance of patience to go the distance with this special boy. Ideally, a family that has rescued before.
If you are considering adopting Domino - a dog raised in a breeding facility - please read this important article before you submit an application: bestfriends/pet-care-resources/what-expect-when-rescuing-puppy-mill-dog
What is my personality like? Meet Domino, a gentle toy poodle with a tender heart who is looking for a family willing to give him patience, love, and time. Life is still very new to him, and while he can be shy at first, Domino warms up once he feels safe. He just needs a little space to adjust at his own pace and a family who will let him bloom into the sweet companion he’s meant to be.
Domino isn’t quite ready to be anyone’s teddy bear just yet. He prefers slow, gentle introductions and wants to be petted before being scooped up.Domino could do well with respectful, gentle children who understand his need for patience. He’s not asking for much—just a family who will honor his need to move at his own pace. Once he has your trust (and it doesn’t take long if you go slowly), he reveals his sweet, affectionate side, and it’s clear how much love he has to give.
As a breeder release, Domino is learning what it means to be a well-loved pet. Leashes, training, and the routines of home life are still unfamiliar, but with encouragement and kindness, he will gain confidence. The big world can feel overwhelming to him right now, but once he trusts you (and that doesn’t take long), his affectionate, gentle nature begins to shine.
One thing Domino has always loved is the company of other dogs. In fact, having another small, confident dog in the home is a must for him. A canine friend will give him comfort, guidance, and the confidence to learn what it truly means to be part of a family. He loves his doggy friends and adores playing and hopping around like a bunny with them!
With time, trust, and the support of another dog, Domino will reward his family with the sweetest love. He’s ready to find a home where he can finally be cherished for the wonderful little boy he is.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Domino is shy, but curious and gentle. He is not going to walk up to you and does expect you to move slowly to allow him to adjust.
Other tips and tidbits: Domino's birthday is 01/01/2024
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to /follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
