e and energy, and he’s still figuring out what it means to live like a true family dog. We believe Milo spent much of his life tied up, so many of the things most dogs learn early on are still brand new to him. With patience, consistency, and a lot of love, Milo is eager to learn and ready to thrive in a home of his own.
Milo has a huge personality to match his size. He’s playful, silly, and has the funniest habit of leaping into the air like a little dog trapped in a giant body—it never fails to make us laugh. He loves playing with a rope and absolutely adores water, whether it’s splashing in a bath, drinking straight from the hose, or pouncing around in the spray. After he’s had his fun, Milo is happy to come inside, stretch out, and enjoy a well-earned nap.
Because of his background, Milo is still learning the ropes when it comes to training. He doesn’t always respond to his name, leash walking is a challenge, and he has occasionally marked indoors, though he hasn’t had true accidents. He’s not crate-trained and can be hit-or-miss in the car, but he’s a smart, eager dog who will make wonderful progress with the right guidance.
Milo currently lives with several dogs of all sizes in his foster home. He does well with some, especially larger and confident dogs, but he has had scuffles with others, particularly older or smaller pups He hasn’t been tested with cats, so at this time we recommend a cat-free home.
When it comes to people, Milo is a sweetheart. He loves adults and warms up quickly to new faces, showing no fear or aggression. He has been around young children in his foster home, but his size, strength, and playful jumping make him too much for little ones. Milo would do best in a home with teens or older kids who can handle a big, energetic dog and appreciate his goofy antics.
The perfect home for Milo will be with an experienced large-breed owner who can provide him with structure, patience, and a secure yard where he can safely burn off his energy. He’s not afraid of anything, but he does need consistency as he adjusts to life as an indoor dog. With the right family, Milo will bring so much joy, loyalty, and laughter—especially when he shows off his hilarious high jumps or splashes around in the hose.
Milo is ready to leave his difficult past behind and start fresh with a family who will believe in him, love him unconditionally, and give him the stable forever home he’s been waiting for.
