Yellow| 3-Month-Old Pit Bull/Staffy Mix | The Snuggliest Sidekick Meet Yellow, affectionately nicknamed “Dave,” a 3-month-old, 12-pound pit bull/staffy mix with a heart as big as his paws are going to be one day. Don’t let his tiny size fool you - this little guy is brimming with personality, curiosity, and love. Yellow is already showing how smart and adaptable he is. He’s well on his way to being house trained and does most of his business outside. Mealtime? No problem - he happily hangs out in his crate, getting used to the routine. At night, he’s the dreamiest of sleepers, snuggled under the covers with his humans until morning. Playtime is one of Yellow’s favorite parts of the day. He’ll happily play with toys, chew on bones, or wrestle with his canine friends - big or small, he’s not picky. He’s curious about cats and after a few “teaching moments” from the resident felines, he’s learning to respect their space and move on. Kids absolutely adore him, and the feeling is mutual. Yellow is gentle, patient, and perfectly content to soak up attention from even the youngest visitors. But what makes Yellow truly special is his calm, cuddly nature. His foster family calls him “the calmest puppy we’ve ever had!” He loves a good play session, but once he’s had his fill, he’s perfectly happy to curl up at your side - or better yet, on your lap - for a long nap. He’s a champion snuggler who thrives on being close to his people. Yellow would be happiest in a home with another playful dog to keep him company, a yard where he can explore and burn off puppy energy, and a family who’s committed to helping him grow into the amazing dog he’s destined to be. With his sweet temperament, easygoing personality, and love of people, he’s the kind of pup who will slip seamlessly into your heart and home. Whoever adopts Yellow is in for endless tail wags, puppy kisses, and the kind of unconditional love only a dog like him can give. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogsarrcolorado for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: arrcolorado/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
