se fill out an Adoption Application. If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application. Meet Panda! Meet Orca ! This beautiful pup is such a terrific little pup. She has an amazing loving and intelligent personality. She and her almost twin brother Orca have just been the best foster pups. Currently staying at casa de arwob. They were rescued from Tijuana Mexico late August. Unfortunately, their owners had their mom chained to a pole in terrible conditions, no water, food, shelter, etc. Someone noticed too late that she needed help and she passed tethered to the pole terrible finding. Their rescuer scooped these 2 babies up and called authorities sadly in Baja nothing was done. The pups where taken to safety. After quarantine was done they crossed the border to ARWOB. They are now fully vetted and ready for adoption. They are amazing with people, dogs and cats. Excellent crate training and of course NOT potty trained, they are only 3 months old. Please, only apply for these pups if you have the schedule for a young pup and have research dog trainers and veterinary care ei expenses to own a dog as well as the long term/lifetime commitment it takes to own a dog for their life which can be 8-18 years. She is already learning to sit, such a smart girl! NOTE: We don't typically recommend sibling adoptions, although these 2 have exhibited great friendship and no sibling rivalry. They do NOT need to be adopted together, they would be a great pair. The adoption fees are per pup and do not offer discount adopting a second for pups younger than 6 months. That can also be a determining factor for you to choose to adopt these 2 sweethearts Visit ARWOB to submit an adoption application online, Once we review we will contact you to schedule a call in the hopes we can move fwd to schedule a meet and greet, Adoption are done the same day of the meet and greets assuming things go well. We do NOT place holds on rescues. Please, do not apply to adopt if you are not ready to meet soon and of course adopt. If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
