iggles with joy, she’s guaranteed to wriggle her way straight into your heart. Tink is vibrant, bouncy, and full of life - even while battling a little shelter cold, she’s still eager to get out and explore the world with her trademark enthusiasm. ✨ A former mama (likely more than once), it's finally her turn to be spoiled, snuggled, and pampered like the sweet little baby she is. She’s treat-motivated and loves attention, even if she sits only on her own terms for now - manners are a work in progress, but she’s a quick study! Tink is already an absolute gem, and with a little polish, she’ll shine like the dazzling diamond she was always meant to be. Will you help this sweet girl live out her full potential? -4 year old white and black Pitbull mix -62 pound unaltered female - Tink hasn’t been spayed yet due to her doggy cold -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, due to her little cold and lack of spay, she will need to be adopted on a health and trust wavier - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 9/13/25 as a stray -absolutely adorable little freckles across her perfectly boopable snoot, this cow print cutie patootie will wriggle her chonky booty right into your heart! -vibrant, bouncy, and brimming with enthusiasm for life, this sweetie makes friends fast and will never fail to bring a smile to your face with her charming antics -she picked up a little doggy cold at the shelter, but even when she's not feeling her best, she's still eager to get out and explore all the sights, sniffs, and sounds the world has to offer -has clearly been a mama, likely several times over, and now it's her turned to be pampered and babied like the sweet pea that she is -eager to please and treat motivated, this munchkin will sit for attention, but curiously, only on her own terms - not on command, although she should be a quick study! -she's also boisterous and will jump up to say hi and get pets - this is super precious, but you may want to work on her manners to help her be her best self -Tink is already a gem, but with a little polishing, she'll shine bright like the diamond she is deep inside! 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
