r-old Bulldog mix is truly the most perfect bonbon - calm, cuddly, and full of charm. Though likely deaf from untreated ear infections, Lambert just had surgery to help, that may restore some of his hearing, and while he's still healing (and a little itchy!), he’s already showing his happy, resilient spirit. Easy on leash, laid back, and super friendly, he’s a total dream to handle - and he's great with other dogs, making him an ideal little brother in a multi-pup home. Despite everything he’s been through, Lambert's vibrant joy and gentle nature shine bright, and he’s ready to bring all that love and spunky personality into a forever home. With his absolutely adorable looks and equally winning personality, he’s a perfect match for just about anyone. Come take home this sweet treat today! -2 year old brown and tan Bulldog mix -36 pound male - not yet neutered, will likely need to be done before or shortly after adoption, although the shelter can likely help with this! -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, due to his recent surgery for his chronic ear infections that may need a few follow up checks, he will need need to be adopted on a health waiver - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 9/17/25 as as stray -chonky little lowrider, with a handsome milk chocolate coat and the cutest little caramel sock feet - the most perfect little bonbon, truly the sweetest treat! -this darling may be deaf due to chronic ear infections that unfortunately went untreated, but he doesn't let it slow him down - he just went through surgery, so both ears are out of commission for now, but he may hear better now that he's been treated -the surgery has left his face a little itchy, but once he's healed up, he'll shine like the gem we know he is! -calm, laid back and good on leash, this roly poly cutie is warm, friendly, and a dream to handle -he's also fabulous with other pups, so could make an excellent little brother to other dogs you may already have -given his perfect temperament wrapped in a perfectly petite package (have we made it clear how perfect we think Lambert is?), this boy is an all around winner and perfect for a wide range of families! 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
