Charlotte #3 | 2 years old Pitbull Mix | Snuggle Bug Extraordinaire Meet Charlotte, an adorable 2-year-old Pitbull mix weighing about 30 pounds. With her shiny black coat, expressive eyes, and short little legs, she’s as cute as she is affectionate. Charlotte is a loving, gentle girl who adores her people and thrives on attention and cuddles—she’ll happily snuggle under a blanket and rest her head on you every chance she gets. Charlotte is nearly house-trained and doing wonderfully with consistency. She’s learned to let her humans know when it’s time to go out and is quickly getting into a steady routine. On walks, she’s a delight—curious but manageable—and while she may pull a little when she sees other dogs or something exciting, she’s easily redirected. She’s also getting used to kennel time, eating her meals there and even napping after short sessions. This sweet girl has shown nothing but positive interactions with other dogs and children, and she’s even met cats through a baby gate without much interest. She’s playful, friendly, and affectionate, with just the right amount of pep—happy to go for long walks or romp with another dog but equally content to nap at your side. Charlotte is learning commands like sit, come, down, and off, and she’s eager to please, especially when love is the reward. She enjoys toys, bones, and anything she can chew on, though she occasionally needs a gentle reminder to stick to the dog toys. Her ideal home would be one where she gets plenty of love, structure, and companionship. She’d be thrilled to join a family that takes her along on adventures, to parks, or even out for a patio hang—but she’ll be just as happy curling up for a long nap afterward. Whether you have kids, other pets, or it’s just you, Charlotte will fill your home with sweetness, snuggles, and plenty of love. See more photos of Charlotte here! If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogsarrcolorado for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: arrcolorado/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
