Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. Sandy arrived in rescue pregnant via a puppy mill bust. She gave birth to 2 beautiful puppies and is now ready for a home of her own. Sandy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 10/13/25 Sandy had a dental with 19 extractions Proper oral care including regular dental exams will be important moving forward. Sandy arrived in rescue from poor conditions. She and all the dogs in the home have been proactively treated for mange. Our best guess is that Sandy is a poodle mix but she came from a puppy mill where there were also chihuahuas and pomeranians. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 9 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 - This adoption fee will be increasing effective 11/01/2025. Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Sandy is one of the most people-loving dogs we've ever met. Seriously - she literally wants to be with you and on you at ALL TIMES. Her forever home must have someone home during the day - or someone who is willing to take their dog with them everywhere. Sandy wants to be where you are. Her forever home must love a dog sleeping with them at night. Sandy prefers to sleep on top of her humans. She's the happiest girl that loves adults, loves kids, loves making new friends, loves dogs and cats, and generally loves life. What is my personality like? Sandy is a bright beam of joy wrapped in fluff. Despite spending her early life in a puppy mill, this girl’s spirit is untouched — she is all giggles, wiggles, and sunshine. She loves other dogs but make no mistake - she wants her person more than anything. Sandy is a full-time velcro queen and must be touching you at all times to be truly content. Sandy is still learning that leashes aren’t scary and that car rides lead to good things, but she’s eager and trying hard. When it’s time for bed, she doesn’t just sleep with you — she sleeps on top of you. Expect lots of warmth and even more love. Sandy does have one rule - if you try to leave her behind, she will voice her objection! She has an excellent appetite and believes all food is fair game. Life tried to dim her, but it failed — she radiates pure happiness and devotion. Sandy is ready for the person who wants to be loved intensely, followed everywhere, and adored without condition. If you want a joyful shadow dog who will make every day brighter, Sandy is your girl. How do I act when I first meet new people? Sandy is the happiest dog you will ever meet. She runs into a room, tail wagging, and instantly wants to be your best friend. Other tips and tidbits: Sandy arrived in rescue as part of a puppy mill. We have no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition our veterinarian has aged her at 3.5 years old. We celebrate her birthday 12/04/2021. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet.
