Chikis #2 | 6 month old Chihuahua | Playful, Sweet, and Full of Joy
Meet Chikis, a six-month-old Wheaten-colored Chihuahua with a happy spirit and a heart full of love. This tiny girl is equal parts playful and snuggly—she adores romping around with her foster brother, wrestling, chasing toys, and then curling up for a nap beside him. She’s friendly, affectionate, and always eager to be part of the fun, even if she’s still a little shy at first.
Chikis is learning all the basics of puppy life, including house training and leash walking, and she’s doing a great job with encouragement and consistency. She settles nicely in her crate after a few minutes and has been a perfect angel when left alone. She’s motivated by food, toys, and affection, making her a quick learner once she’s comfortable.
This sweet pup has had positive interactions with larger dogs and cats, and while she hasn’t met kids yet, her loving and gentle personality suggests she could do well in many kinds of homes. Because she can be a little nervous at first, a calm and patient environment will help her confidence continue to bloom.
Chikis does have a seizure disorder, but her anti-seizure medication keeps her completely seizure free, and she’s thriving under that care. She’s a happy, healthy, and playful young dog who just wants love, attention, and a family to call her own. With her cheerful prance, cuddly nature, and joyful energy, Chikis is sure to bring warmth and sunshine to any home lucky enough to have her.
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.
Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
Please email dogsarrcolorado for more information, as we can't accept calls.
PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: arrcolorado/category/puppy-dog-tips/
