in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Blaire Dec23 Date into Rescue: 12/03/2023 Reason for being in rescue: Mama and her babies were found in a dumpster Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet, SC Special Needs? Blaire is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Blaire is a mixed breed puppy. She is 25% chihuahua and 100% good dog. Tilly's DNA suggests that he is a mix of chihuahua, shih tzu, toy poodle, chow chow and american bully. She is 100% adorable! A prior veterinarian noted that Blaire may need luxating patella surgery on her right rear leg. Our veterinarian has examined her and noted no palpable luxation and no lameness. Surgery is not recommended at this time. Weight: 27 lbs Height: 14 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Blaire is a young dog with so much potential. Like the shy kid in class, she takes time to get to really know you. Once she knows you, you are her person. Blaire is a sensitive soul who thrives in a calm and predictable environment. Loud noises, busy days, or chaotic energy can be overwhelming for her, so Blaire is hoping to find a peaceful, quiet home where she can truly relax. That said, she still deserves to see the world—she would love a home that will gently show her that outings can be fun and that daily walks around the neighborhood are part of a happy routine. Because sudden movements and loud voices can be scary for her, Blaire would do best in a home without young children. What she does want without question, though, is a canine companion. Blaire feels most comfortable when she has another dog in the home—a steady, confident friend who can show her that everything is okay. She may not always follow or play directly with her furry friends, but she learns by watching them and finds quiet reassurance in their presence. Blaire does have a voice. She will use it when she is afraid or when she's in unfamiliar settings. Because of this apartment living is really not for her. What is my personality like? Meet Blaire! Who doesn’t love an adorable, little low rider! Blaire's DNA suggest she is a chihuahua/American bully/poodle mix! Who would have ever guessed! All we know for sure is she is 100% a good girl! Blaire had a slow start in life, as she was rescued along with her mother and pups from a dumpster … and you guessed it, this girl is in dire need of a fur-ever companion! Blaire is pretty medium energy, with a perfect balance of playtime and naps! She absolutely loves yummy treats, and comfy beds which is the best way to win her heart and trust over! She loves to play with other dogs, but nothing over the top. She gets along great with larger and smaller breeds and needs another confident dog in the home to help her build confidence and keep her company. Blaire grew up in rescue, surrounded by love and care, but without the full experience of a home and family of her own. She’s learned so much along the way, yet there are still a few things she’s discovering for the first time—like how wonderful new people can be. Blaire can be shy when meeting strangers and may need some time and patience to feel comfortable with someone new. Blaire is both crate and house trained and does wonderfully with structure. She will need a week or two to get used to your daily routine and schedule, but Blaire has shown to adjust to schedule changes well and usually without messes. Blaire loves being outside—it’s one of her happiest places! Sometimes she’ll even turn playtime into a little game of “keep away” when it’s time to come inside, but it’s all in good fun. Once Blaire trusts you, she’s a total sweetheart. With her people, she’s affectionate, cuddly, and loyal—a true shadow who follows you everywhere just to be close. She walks nicely on leash and would quickly pick things back up with a refresher course. And of course, treats and toys are the way to her heart. Blaire is looking for a patient, understanding family who will let her blossom at her own pace, celebrate her quiet victories, and fill her life with safety, consistency, and love. In return, she’ll be the kind of gentle, devoted companion that makes every small step forward feel like something truly special. How do I act when I first meet new people? Blaire is timid and submissive until she learns she can trust you. Once she knows you, a different light shines! Other tips and tidbits: Blaire and her siblings were found dumped in a trash can along with their mom. They were around 15 days old when found. We celebrate her birthday 11/23/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
