he’s cycled through at least three homes and been listed as a “lost dog” four times. When she was found yet again—and her family declined to reclaim her—a kind soul stepped in and offered to foster her. That’s when Ember’s journey with H-E-A-R-T began. Now safely in our care, Ember is showing us who she really is: a high-energy, blanket-loving, kid-friendly cuddlebug with a heart that’s ready to trust again. What We’ve Learned About Ember - Completely housebroken and allowed on furniture (because snuggles are life) - Good with other dogs—she’s done well with every pup she’s met - Kid-friendly with children of ages 3 and up - Somewhat vocal and pulls on leash—she’s got places to go and stories to tell - No fence required - in fact we want you to leash walk her. She can easily get out of any fenced yard! - Not crate trained—crating causes her anxiety, so a home where she can roam freely is ideal. She is not destructive. - Loves soft things—blankets, pillows, plush toys, and anything cozy - Protects her favorite items (blankets, toys) with other dogs, but not humans. Her foster manages this by giving her a designated blanket space and keeping toys put away. She’s improving as she learns she’s safe. -Prefers to dine solo, just to be safe. -She’s active—playing with her foster siblings and walking at least a mile daily. -Raised voices make her anxious, but gentle tones and loving routines help her thrive. Ember’s Dream Home Ember dreams of a calm, soft-spoken family who will adore her endlessly. She wants to be someone’s lap dog, travel buddy, and blanket queen. She’d love a home with or without other dogs, respectful kids, and a hooman who will walk her to keep her safe. She’s not asking for much—just love, softness, and a place to finally belong. Ember is 3 years old, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and being fostered in Tennessee. Her adoption area includes the Eastern U.S., and transport can be arranged. Ready to give Ember the forever she’s been waiting for? Apply now and let her spark light up your life. ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at .huskyrescueteam/apply If you have additional questions please email infohuskyrescueteam

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
